AMANDA GOODWIN

"In every transition, there is grief for what was and hope for what's coming. Healing happens when we make room for both."

MEET AMANDA:

I believe therapy begins with creating a space where you can feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I strive to meet each client where they are, lean into their existing strengths, and work collaboratively toward creating a meaningful life through a series of small steps. As a pragmatic optimist, I believe that growth is possible even when the path forward is not always clear.

My developing clinical approach is integrative, drawing from person-centered therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and Motivational Interviewing. My graduate coursework and additional training have strengthened my interest in creative, experiential, strengths-based, and collaborative approaches to emotional well-being. I have completed training in Motivational Interviewing through the University of British Columbia, Positive Psychology through the University of Pennsylvania, and Emotional Intelligence through Daniel Goleman. My graduate work has also explored creative approaches to emotional regulation and developmentally appropriate care for individuals experiencing emotional distress.
