MEET CHRISTINA:

Christina Nguyen, MA, is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology, specializing in areas such as family therapy, child development, trauma therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Described as patient, empathetic, and understanding, Christina brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her practice.  She welcomes people from all walks of life into her office, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.  When you meet Christina, you’ll immediately feel at ease with her calm personality that is curious to hear your story.

With a background as a Mobile Therapist and Behavioral Consultant, Christina has worked with mental health diagnoses including: learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, bipolar, and those struggling with suicidal ideation and self harm issues.  She has expertise working as a Multisystemic Therapist (MSTT) in both York and Adams County, PA. Christina has honed her skills in facilitating positive change within families and individuals facing diverse challenges.

  • One notable aspect of Christina's work is her ability to bridge communication gaps within families, particularly between parents and their teenage children. Her advocacy extends beyond therapy sessions, as she often is working to create resources and creative therapeutic interventions when there are specialized needs that families may have.

Christina's therapeutic approach prioritizes rapport building, where she engages clients in discussions about their interests and goals. She incorporates various techniques, including de-escalation strategies and cognitive behavioral tools, tailored to each client's unique needs.

Christina’s academic journey has been enriched by impactful experiences, notably a course on Social and Emotional Development at George Mason University, which deepened her understanding of children's cognition and empathy. Christina draws inspiration from literature as well, citing "There Are No Children Here" by Alex Kotlowitz as a poignant exploration of social inequalities and their impact on families.

Driven by a lifelong passion for helping others, Christina's dedication to instilling hope in her clients underscores her commitment to empowering them to realize their full potential. Beyond her professional endeavors, Christina finds joy in cooking, writing poetry, and playing guitar in her spare time, enriching her life with creativity and self-expression.
