JANVEE PATEL
"Therapy is not just for moments of crisis; it is a space for anyone, at any stage of life, to pause, grow, heal, and better understand themselves."
MEET JANVEE:
Janvee Patel is a Counselor-in-Training at Northwestern University, deeply passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. As a clinician-in-training, she strives to be compassionate, empathetic, approachable, and nonjudgmental, building genuine therapeutic relationships while honoring each client's individual experiences, strengths, and goals. Her decision to become a therapist was inspired by her own experiences with therapy and a desire to become the representation she sought during her own mental health journey, along with a commitment to making mental health support more accessible to those who may feel misunderstood or hesitant to seek help.

Janvee is currently exploring her theoretical orientation, drawing so far on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Theory to help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and motivations for change. She believes in meeting clients where they are rather than expecting them to fit into a particular mold, working collaboratively to identify strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and set meaningful goals at a pace that feels comfortable and authentic. Her areas of focus include women's mental health, anxiety, depression, addiction, life transitions, teens, grief and loss, and trauma, with particular passion for supporting clients through periods of uncertainty, change, and personal growth.
Outside of counseling, Janvee enjoys playing pickleball, watching sunsets, and reading — activities she values as opportunities to slow down, recharge, and stay present. She believes that therapy is not about having all the answers, but about having a supportive space to explore the questions, and she hopes to empower clients to recognize their strengths and feel confident building a life that aligns with who they are and who they want to become.
