MEET KIM:

As a therapist, Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice, stemming from her educational background and personal interests.  Kim is honored to partner with individuals, couples and families in order to  help them overcome challenges and find healing.

Kim's clients often describe her as warm, collaborative, flexible, and eclectic. She understands that each person requires a unique approach to therapy, and she tailors her methods to suit her clients' specific needs and preferences. This adaptability allows her clients to feel comfortable and supported as they embark on their journey towards growth and self-discovery.

  • One of the guiding principles that resonates deeply with Kim is the quote by Lisa Olivera: "Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." This philosophy drives Kim's approach to therapy, recognizing that every individual's journey is unique, and she is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative space for her clients to explore their inner selves.

Kim’s is committed to guiding her clients through their inner work and personal growth. Drawing inspiration from her experiences, literature, and connection to nature, she brings a unique perspective to her practice, creating a safe and supportive space for her clients to heal and flourish.

With a client-centered and holistic approach, Kim ensures that each person's journey towards healing is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. Her extensive experience and genuine compassion enable her clients to feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. Whether individuals are facing personal struggles or seeking guidance to improve their relationships, Kim is dedicated to helping them discover the path towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

One book that significantly influenced Kim's perspective on her profession is "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down" by Anne Fadiman. Through this eye-opening book, she learned the importance of cross-cultural communication and understanding in the helping professions. This valuable lesson empowers her to embrace diversity and create an inclusive therapeutic environment that respects and celebrates individual differences.

In relationship counseling, Kim helps couples navigate through challenges, improve communication, and build stronger connections. Drawing from her diverse background in social work, she employs various therapeutic modalities to address the unique needs of each couple and facilitate productive and transformative conversations.

Kim worked as a mental health educator and depression screening team member with TeenHope, an outreach program from Samaritan Center in Lancaster. This experience allowed her to engage with young individuals facing mental health challenges and equipped her with valuable insights into the struggles they may encounter.

Moreover, Kim is well-versed in trauma therapy, recognizing the profound impact that past traumas can have on an individual's present well-being. Through a trauma-informed approach, she creates a safe and nurturing environment for clients to process their experiences, fostering healing and growth.

Beyond her professional life, Kim has a deep passion for nature, particularly wild birds. She finds joy in identifying different bird species, feeding them, and simply observing their beauty and behavior. This connection to nature further informs her therapeutic approach, as she believes in the healing power of the natural world.  She also enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, hiking, and making art. These creative outlets not only rejuvenate her but also add to her ability to understand the diverse interests and passions of her clients.
