“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.” - Thich Nhat Hanh

MEET Dr. Elizabeth:

Meet Dr. Elizabeth Dalton, a licensed psychologist with a heart full of warmth and a passion for helping people like you find their inner strength and resilience.  When you meet Liz, you’ll immediately recognize her ability to create a safe, collaborative space for you to share your story.  Liz wears many hats - as a Professor at Elizabethtown College teaching college students to learn therapeutic interventions to her work at Sun Point Foundation where she works with individuals, couples and families.  Liz also mentors and supervises pre-clinical therapists in their training towards certification.

When you step into Elizabeth's therapy space, know that she's here to support you through life's ups and downs. Stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, physical health concerns, chronic pain, coping skills, and grief—no matter what you're facing, she's ready to walk alongside you.  Hope is a guiding light in Elizabeth's practice, and she firmly believes that with the right support, tomorrow can be brighter than today. As Thich Nhat Hanh said, "Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear."

  • With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Elizabeth's journey has been shaped by the transformative power of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. These approaches have taught her that therapy is a beautiful dance between acceptance and change, and she's excited to guide you through this empowering process.

Elizabeth's inspiration comes from real-life stories, like Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison's powerful memoir "An Unquiet Mind," which highlights the human spirit's incredible ability to overcome challenges. As your therapist, she brings to the table a warm, empathic, and nonjudgmental approach, ensuring you feel heard and understood throughout your journey. In her own journey, Elizabeth has been profoundly touched by the transformative power of therapy. This personal experience has made her even more dedicated to empowering you to find your own path to healing and growth.

Dr. Dalton has extensive clinical experiences including formerly providing psychological services at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical College, where she worked with clients in various settings, gaining a deep understanding of different challenges and struggles. Additionally, she has been a Psychology Practicum Student at the Simms/Mann-UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, supporting individuals and families navigating the complexities of a cancer diagnosis.

Mentoring has played a crucial role in Elizabeth's life, and she's proud and grateful to have had wonderful mentors who have shaped her career. Now, she pays it forward by being a mentor to others, creating a nurturing and empowering environment for growth.

Beyond her therapy practice, Elizabeth's passion for psychology shines as an Associate Professor of Psychology at Elizabethtown College. Here, she guides and nurtures the next generation of psychology and counseling students, sharing her extensive knowledge and research on the impact of stress on physical and mental health.

If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, Dr. Elizabeth Dalton is here to walk with you, joining with you to meet your treatment goals. Together, you'll explore the depths of your potential, embrace hope, and discover the resilience of your beautiful human spirit.
