MEET SARA:

Sara is a warm, empathic, and relational therapist who believes that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. Her approach is grounded in kindness, compassion, and deep respect for each person’s journey. Rather than following a rigid model, she meets clients where they are, drawing on a flexible, trauma-informed style rooted in Gestalt theory and mind-body connection.

With over 16 years of experience in both community mental health and university counseling, Sara brings a deep understanding of how identity, life transitions, and systemic factors impact emotional wellbeing. She specializes in supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood-related concerns, perimenopausal struggles, and life transitions. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming and social justice-oriented therapist, Sara creates space for clients to feel safe, seen, and understood.

  • Sara brings a unique ability to help her clients slow down and tune in—not just to their thoughts, but to their bodies, emotions, and deeper needs. In her presence, many clients describe feeling a sense of safety they haven't experienced before. She helps individuals connect with their inner wisdom, set clear boundaries, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may have been long silenced. Her approach is both grounding and empowering, combining deep listening with practical skills for daily life.

Sara’s clinical toolkit includes training in Gestalt Therapy, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, PCIT, and a range of trauma-informed practices. She brings a transparent, thoughtful, and often humorous style to sessions, helping clients explore both the complexities of their stories and the hope within them.

Originally from Buffalo (and a proud member of Bills Mafia), Sara recharges through distance running, Sunday dinners with family, and cooking meals that bring people together. She believes it is a privilege to hold space for others’ growth—and her path to becoming a therapist was deeply personal. After struggling to find help during her own difficult time, she became committed to making therapy more accessible, human, and healing.
