EMDR Counseling: Providing In-Network EMDR for most Highmark, Blue Shield, and Blue Cross Insurance Plans in Pennsylvania

Our Mission has always remained the same: To provide high quality evidence-based therapy that is both affordable and accessible to our community.  From the day we opened our first Lancaster office in Gallery Row, our modalities to approach therapy have been consistent to all our clients.  At Sun Point Counseling, we remain committed to our bottom line by incorporating EMDR Counseling with our clients coming to our practice.  It’s a highly scientifically proven modality that is effective to help individuals with trauma, along with anxiety, depressive and other mental health challenges.  And guess what?  It works quicker than traditional talk therapy, on average allowing individuals to overcome a challenging memory in just one or two reprocessing sessions.

What’s an EMDR reprocessing session?  Reprocessing is developed to have a therapist help you play through a challenging memory in your past until it is no longer upsetting to you.  This is paired with several grounding strategies before and after the session should the session or the memory become too difficult to focus on during the session.  You’re always welcome to let your therapist know that you want to shut down and ‘container’ the memory by using a strategy to put it away until you’re ready to do therapeutic work around that memory.

We have several therapists who are paneled with most Highmark, Blue Shield, and Blue Cross Insurance plans offering a combination of virtual therapy in Pennsylvania, and in our office in downtown Lancaster, PA.  We’re also proud to have a virtual Florida EMDRIA trained therapist, Marcus Lewis who serves as our Director of Florida Counseling Services and Program Liaison for EMDR therapy training.

Why seek EMDR trauma counseling?  If you’re considering traditional talk therapy - chances are, EMDR could have more bang for your buck - both saving you lots of time and money.  EMDR is a more focused and scientifically proven way to reduce distressing symptoms in your life for both small attachment traumas, along with very difficult one-time occurring traumas (ex: car crash, death in family, etc).  You are welcome to talk with one of our Primary Therapists to better understand what talk therapy versus EMDR counseling will look like and what should have a greater benefit given your therapeutic goals.

Where do I need to go to get access to EMDR Counseling?  Whether you’re located in the state of Pennsylvania or Florida, Sun Point is able to provide EMDR therapy virtually throughout both states. Our downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania offers has 18 offices housing over 20 EMDR therapists who are here to help you.  We can develop a treatment plan and have an estimated time length to work through your memories in order to achieve your goals.

What if we don’t accept your insurance?  Great question!  And we remain committed to serving our community by offering a team of Masters Level Therapists who offer a sliding scale rate from $0-$50 per session.  By simply submitting your end of your taxes or pay stub, our intake team can confirm what your rate will be for your session to: getstarted@sunpointwellness.com.

What are the benefits of EMDR? It’s clear as more and more insurance providers promote EMDR, along with large counseling organizations that many are aware of the benefits of improving people’s lives, physical and mental health from working with an EMDRIA trained therapist. Call us today to learn if we can get you scheduled or on our waiting list for EMDR: getstarted@sunpointwellness.com or call: (717) 297-0515.
